Authentication Failed - OPIE Purchasing Username Information Missing or Invalid
The OPIE Purchasing username is used to link OPIE to the web-based modules of OPIE, such as OPIE Purchasing & Inventory, OPIE Help, OPIE Mobile and the OPIE Online Schedule. You received this message because your OPIE Purchasing username is either missing or invalid.
How do I fix this?
- If you don't have an OPIE Purchasing & Inventory account, ask your OPIE Onsite Administrator to create an account for you.
- The OPIE Onsite Administrator will then need to go to Administrative Tools > Users > Add User (only for a new user) or Edit User (for an existing user) and add the Purchasing username to the OPIE Purchasing Username field at the bottom of the screen. View a screenshot of this
- Add a Purchasing Account for an Existing OPIE User: The user's account must be created in OPIE Purchasing & Inventory before the username is added to the OPIE Purchasing Username field in the Edit User screen in Administrative Tools. If the Administrator adds the username for a non-existing Purchasing account in this field and then clicks OK, OPIE will try to sync with the account and will then return the error, "The Purchasing username is not found for this facility."
- Add a Purchasing Account for a New OPIE User: For new OPIE users, the Administrator should leave the Purchasing Username field blank in the Add User screen in Administrative Tools and click the "View/Add OPIE Purchasing User" link to the right of that field. After the Purchasing & Inventory account is created, the username can then be added to the Purchasing Username field. Click OK and OPIE will then sync to the Purchasing account.
- Purchasing usernames for users who already had Purchasing & Inventory accounts before the OPIE Build 782 update will already be populated into the OPIE Purchasing Username field in their user account in Administrative Tools.
- There cannot be shared Purchasing user accounts. Each user is required to have a unique Purchasing username. This allows OPIE to link to the correct user account.
- A username that has been used in the past cannot be re-used because, even though a username may be deactivated, it is still connected to saved information.
